Why I learn English online
I’ve been learning English almost all my life: I started this during my second year at school. In primary school, I attended “School of Small Englishmen” where we learned English through games and role play. In high school, I had a good teacher. It was then that I realized how important it is to know foreign languages in the modern world, so I was working hard on that.
After school, I studied philosophy at the Siberian Federal University. I was disappointed in the level of teaching of English there: the teacher was not enthusiastic about our classes and I felt that I was stuck. Back then, my level was between B1 (Intermediate) and B2 (Upper-Intermediate) and it would have been enough for communicating with native speakers and traveling abroad. But I’m a perfectionist and wanted to reach at least an Advanced English level.

There were three packages available, and I chose Newbie, without chats and memos.
The marathon lasted for 30 days without breaks or days off, which helped me to dive into the language environment. There was a new topic every day. The program is very intense. We studied pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary verbs, passive voice, and conditionals. There were a lot of practical tips, for example on how to better memorize new words and what to do if you can’t find common ground with a native speaker.
I watched all lessons daily and did my homework straight away. I usually studied in the afternoon, after my studies at the university, but a few times I studied in the morning. It was convenient that the lessons are not long, so I could watch a lesson, pass the test, do homework and take notes within an hour.
What can I say about LinguaTrip.com in general? I’m very pleased. It’s affordable and I learned a lot. I could study on any device, wherever and whenever I liked. It’s a big advantage of online courses.

How I used new knowledge in real life

During trips, I always translate everything for my friends and family. During the third year at university, I volunteered at the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. I assisted foreign athletes, coaches, and visitors to check into their hotels, get to the airport or sports areas, see the city, etc. I could also assist with translations from English when there was no professional translator nearby.
In the future, I’m planning to pass an international English exam, IELTS or TOEFL. I’m thinking of becoming a private English tutor and going for a Master’s degree abroad. If there will be another interesting course at LinguaTrip.com, I’ll take it!
