S&P Real Estate launches new program with World Housing to build homes in El Salvador
Our partnership with S&P Real Estate has recently expanded to include a fully integrated giving program throughout their organization, with both corporate and sales committed to becoming ambassadors for World Housing. With a deep understanding of the real estate industry, S&P Real Estate connects the top of the luxury real estate pyramid with the very bottom through their commitment to building homes for families in dire need. Their collective efforts to maximize use of networks, resources and experience come together to change the world one home at a time.

How does it work?
S&P is an international real estate boutique specializing in the design, marketing and sale of luxury and super prime real estate. Using this passion for innovation S&P created a program that allows their team to donate to World Housing on a monthly or transactional basis. With corporate and sales teams spread out along the west coast from San Diego to Vancouver, this program enables them to engage with each other in their common commitment to building homes for families in need. S&P will invite the top three ambassadors of the program to attend the community gifting ceremony in El Salvador in 2019.

Where will the community be built?
Ahuachapán is a municipality located on the Western Side of El Salvador, 60 miles away from El Salvador’s capital — San Salvador. Home to 110,511 people this community is plagued by disproportionately large amounts of poverty. 95% of the families here live below the international poverty line of $2.50 USD per day. Families live in extreme poverty, defined by the lack of multiple basic human needs — such as clean water, adequate shelter and nutritious food. Living in survival mode further perpetuates the cycle of poverty and greatly diminishes hope for the next generation to improve their quality of life.

Alongside our building partners New Story Charity, World Housing is working to create brighter futures for the residents of Ahuachapán. New Story has just completed a 130 home community within the same neighborhood and in the process has developed a deep and productive relationship with the mayor and local government. Through their joint efforts, homes will be built and the local government will provide electricity, paved roads and clean water for the community of homes that are being constructed.
Why Homes?
A home allows people to live safe and stable lives. It provides shelter and security from life threatening dangers (storms, intruders, diseases, etc.) and give families hope for the future. Children who grow up in safe homes have greater freedom to pursue education and raise the standard of living for themselves, their families, and future generations to come.

We believe that a home is just the beginning, when we build homes, we build communities and incredible things start to happen. Families have a greater sense of security, trust in their neighbours and together these benefits have deep, far-reaching long-term implications for sustainable social impact.
