The Benefits of Being Grateful & Appreciating Life All Year Long
Loving our lives is very important and it’s even more vital to express gratitude and show our consistent appreciation for our existence.
In my appreciation journal, Life Is One Big Thank YOU! I share about the importance of giving thanks for life, what a privilege it is to be alive and how every moment is a gift that we should cherish and appreciate.
Though most put a lot of emphasis on Thanksgiving Day for being grateful, there are tremendous benefits to being thankful all year long. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for celebrating Thanksgiving Day and I even published a journal a few years ago that was inspired by this holiday called I AM Thankful: An Inspirational Thanksgiving Journal for Creating a Daily Campaign of Gratitude. My goal is to inspire people to treat each day as if it were Thanksgiving Day in some way by expressing gratitude.
The benefits of being thankful every day increases your joy, positivity, help to boost your immune system for optimal well-being and most of all supports your happiness factor for living a higher quality lifestyle.
I find that keeping a gratitude journal is one of the most beneficial practices that one can have. Writing down at least three to five things daily that you are grateful for shows life that you appreciate your experiences no matter what. The truth is we can always find something to be thankful for because life is one BIG THANK YOU!
If you don’t have a gratitude journaling practice, I invite you to consider incorporating it into your daily or weekly routine. I have a platform that provides three different levels of journaling in this area. I believe in the power of vibration and know that words have their own frequencies, so I created journals for thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation. Another practice that I like to leverage all-year-round with my family participation is keeping a gratitude box. I love writing down things that I’m grateful for on a little piece of paper to put in my box and then reading them on Thanksgiving Day as a family tradition. I invite you to consider that as practices as well. You don’t have to put something in the box every day; however, it’s best when you can do it as often as possible within a week. This way you’ll have plenty to read over on Thanksgiving Day.
