As with everything there are certainly myths about what is good and what isn’t. I do find frequently that I need to use something other than the right word, because the right word has been tainted, confused, and overused.

Teammates want product leaders, not dictators.

While I have seen the myths listed in the article, the conclusions are less than great. I think the first myth is off, why is the Product Manager not a mini-CEO? The counter is not really relevant, it isn’t a matter of what teammates want, it is a matter of what they need. And if we think CEOs are dictators, then it seems there are just as many myths about what a CEO is supposed to.
