Learning something new

Getting to know myself

There are opportunities to learn new things everyday.

I will be the first to tell you that I am not a fan of writing and I generally like to speak my thoughts and convert them to text so that I can share them with you.

I was given this challenge to take a couple minutes to try this new platform out by Gary Vaynerchuk so here I am.

My first challenge was finding an image that worked with the story and the platform… I settled on this one, even-though it is a duplicate of my profile image and that it is a very large image of my head ☺

I have learned a lot about myself this past year, and because I choose to reflect on myself regularly I can usually see areas that need correcting or things that I deserve a pat on the back for. This year was no different, there were many ups and downs, and I have learned a lot!

  1. I used to say “learned a tonne” until my husband pointed out how small a tonne actually is — now I just say a lot ☺
  2. When bad things happen in life it is important to be careful how you proceed. Take a few steps back (this past year I had to take about 500 steps back at one point) and look at the situation without emotion first. That was the toughest part for me. Then assess what needs to be done.
  3. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer is something I will never subscribe to. I keep those who love me and who treat me well closer than anyone else, so that the enemies have less access ☺
  4. I am a fan of putting emoticons in my writings ☺and this platform doesn't recognize :D
  5. I am fond of learning something new, but I need to get better at deciding which new things are important and what to let go of.
  6. I have read several books in 2013 and each of them have brought something to my life, regardless if it was knowledge, or a new way of looking at the world.

I have something else I need to be doing right now and I am sure I spent more than a couple minutes on this already so I am going to stop there — no idea if I will be back or not, but thanks for the challenge Gary ;)
