Building green homes is one of the pleasures of my trade, it’s just not that affordable for everybody. Businesses love include these practices into their new projects because it helps them save money in the long run and attract customers—It’s just a bigger upfront cost. What makes it expensive is the fact that you’re installing features which are more expensive, rather then just the bare minimal needed. Some enhancements are barrier system, insulations, air conditioners and solar panels—this is outside of furnishing your home with recycled goods.

Throughout my day I come across contractors that are traditionalist, they believe that if it isn’t broken than why fix it — same person that’ll tell me for $5,000 more they can make any building American Made. Even though that’s fully supportable that’s still a change for how things are now.

Every single time someone tells me they don’t believe in global warming, my responses is that we should be taking care of the planet anyways.

Green Buildings are sort of like the first iPhone, they are high in price and low in functionality, as time progress people invent newer technologies that make green buildings cheaper with higher functionality. Construction organization are already making it mandatory for buildings to have green qualities, this gives me high hopes for the future — I can’t wait for the average home to be built, with higher functionality than today.
