Democrats — Splitting the Vote Can Cost Us the Election

Dear Democrats,

Don’t split the vote. If you write in Bernie Sanders in a year when there will be 4 candidates on the ballot that no one actually wants to elect… Well, it’s the quickest way to put Trump in the White House.

Think about it… Right now, projections show that Clinton has about a 49–45 lead in the popular vote. This year could see a lot of people staying home. Even though Clinton has a massive (projected) lead in Electoral Votes, voter apathy and splitting the vote could prove disastrous. A widespread Bernie write-in campaign could actually take Electoral Votes away from her.

Look, if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Trump has a mobilized base that will get out to support him. I worry that Dem’s will assume a Clinton win and fail to turn out, or split the vote with write ins…

Don’t do it. Just vote for the nominee and ensure that Trump doesn’t stand a chance. It’s that simple.

The Democratic Party has a history of clutching defeat from the jaws of victory, and I just don’t want it to happen again this year. Write in campaigns for Bernie seems like the riskiest thing to do.

So don’t.
