Learning about the process of design in class this week was very informative and gave me a much better idea about how the process works as we were able to get hands on with it. The picture above shows the bit of the design process I found the most important, which was the rapid generation of designs. Beyond getting information from users, being able to figure out ways to implement those ideas into designs generated even more ideas as to what could benefit the user and new ways of thinking about the problem. Even the most outrageous ideas gave insight as to what was important about the problem.

In addition to that, the importance of having a real prototype stuck out to me. Even if it isn’t super representative of the idea, it is great to see how users may interact with the real physical object, because an idea that you may think was great might actually just be clunky and hard to use.

Going through a quick version of the entire design process gave me a much better idea about how this is all implemented beyond looking at charts and infographics, and was also very fun to do!
