WWE News: Dean Ambrose Opens Up On His Initial Days With The Shield

Dean Ambrose, who currently signed to WWE on the RAW brand is one-time WWE World Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a one-time United States Champion. He was the part of The Shield, that consisted of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The group debuted in November, 2012 at the Survivor Series. It was a dominant force in six-man tag team matches with an undefeated streak lasting from December 2012 to May 2013, during which they scored a victory at Wrestlemania 29 too. However, Rollins left the group in June 2014, when he attacked Ambrose and Reignswith a chair and sided with The Authority. Ambrose and Reigns too made their ways as a single wrestlers and thus making the end of The Shield. Ambrose recently spoke with The Herald-Dispatch for an interview and talked about his early days of The Shield, his unhinged persona and many other things. Below are some of the highlights of the interview -

On early days of The Shield — “They threw us right to the wolves. We clicked immediately. We go week to week. We’d figure it out, did a lot on the fly. It all worked out. It’s mean to an end. Three new guys come in and kick the door down. It’s very rare three personalities work like that. You could tell we resonate with people. I have made way more money, got more things done, a lot more work without them”, he said.

On his “Unhinged” persona — Talking about his unhinged persona he felt himself a pretty sensible individual who does not feel mentally or physically unbalanced. “Michael Cole said it on TV enough times it clicked. I am used to it. You know you get labels put on. In the ring, I don’t care. I fly by the seat of my pants, do whatever I feel like doing”, he added.

On winning and losing WWE Championship — Ambrose smiled at the question and said it’s a part of the game. They will come and go. You long to hold a championship belt, know it’s going to leave and you work to get one again. Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam are some events that every wrestler dreamed to win. As far as you are working hard, the results would get better and better. “One moment you win a battle royal, you battle with a kendo stick, whatever it is. I don’t know any other way. I have been doing it so long” he concluded.
