I don’t know if you have watched Sara Shephard’s novel-turned-into-series Pretty Little Liars, but I am a huge fan of it. Honestly, I am a fan of anything that is under murder, crimes, and mystery.

I don’t even know if you have read Sara Shephard’s novels, but all of her works are about the genre of psychological thrill — which makes it perfect to turn it into a series. The Perfectionist is one of my favorite novels I have ever read — the twists, characters, and a little touch of romance makes it ideal for a young adult novel.

February 21, 2019 — Freeform announced that they will expand the Pretty Little Liars show into a 10-episode order for the Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionist, and as a reader of this novel, I think this is horrendous.

The two novel series are in two different worlds in the same generation. Yes, both of them contains murders, mystery killers, and high school students as protagonists — but this doesn’t mean they are comparable.

March 4, 2019 — the cast was announced by Freeform, containing some of the original casts of Pretty Little Liars and some new cast for the show. And to see that the five main protagonists of The Perfectionist isn’t there, this made it more awful than the previous news. Omitting the main characters and mixing it up to with a successful show shows how this series can be a living lie for those who actually read it, and it’s devastating.

Sara Shephard, I am truly disappointed. I hope you could give The Perfectionist and The Good Girls the attention they deserve.
