睇Gordon Ramsay的《Kitchen Nightmares》,訝異一個事實:八成餐廳在差劣少客賠本的苦況下可以支撐多年,卻在Ramsay大改造後一年之內執笠。

單憑結果來看,人們定會怪這個米芝蓮大廚攪屎棍,但你只要認真看一看節目,自會發現一條反常識的真理:有些人一變好就會死,另類的適者生存是由得他們差下去自生自滅。

托高標準會壓垮他們,參加節目原意是提升質素,但當Ramsay指出其不堪時,他們便陷入自我防衛的否定之中,不肯承認自己有多差劣:

「Are you in denial?」
「No!I'm not!」
