Before I start this post. I have to admit that Sir Richard Branson is and has been my all time favorite CEO. As a business person and journalist, it was my pleasure to be one of the journalists to be chosen to cover such an empowering and educational event. The Synergy Global Forum 2017 was an event that every business person and/or entrepreneur should attend at one point in their lives.

The 2017 event was recently held in NYC on October 27–28, 2017 and had an impressive line-up of speakers. The featured speaker this year was one of the most famed international business icons, Sir Richard Branson.

Known as one of the world’s premier business events, Synergy Global Forum’s goal is to offer professionals and entrepreneurs in Europe, Asia, and North America an unforgettable experience where they have a chance to learn, network, share, grow and have fun with the brightest minds alive.

In addition to Sir Richard, speakers included Gary Vaynerchuk, Jack Welch, Robin Wright, Steve Forbes, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Malcolm Gladwell, Ray Kurzweil, Jimmy Wales, Guy Kawasaki, and Kimberly Guilfoyle. The event is supported by MIT Management Executive Education, NYU Stern, Ivy, and Shapr.

As many business people and entrepreneurs know, Sir Richard Branson is Founder of the Virgin Group, a leading international investment group and one of the world’s most recognized and respected brands. Conceived in 1970 by Sir Richard Branson, the Virgin Group has gone on to grow successful businesses in sectors including mobile telephony, travel and transportation, financial services, leisure and entertainment and health and wellness.

Sir Richard has challenged himself with many record-breaking adventures, including the fastest ever Atlantic Ocean crossing, a series of hot air balloon journeys and kitesurfing across the Channel. He has described Virgin Galactic, the world’s first commercial spaceline, as “the greatest adventure of all.”

During his moderated speech, he discussed stories of innovation and culture; the importance of parties; how to change the world while improving your business; using technology to control your brand and your destiny; and insights into creating a great culture and pursuing innovation.

He also shared his belief for culture and his famous motto “Screw it, Let’s Just Do It!” Although, unconventional and never boring, Sir Richard Branson kept the attendees engaged as he shared news of on his ventures. He really is a great example of someone who works diligently, takes risks and loves his life and there is definitely more to come.
