The first step I was taking to take a little more control of my future.

The night before my first day of technical college.

I stepped through the door and grabbed the first seat available. I dug out a fresh notebook and a new pen to set out in front of me. Then I watched as the other students filed into class.

They looked so young with futures that had a newness to it. Not like me, who had already lived a lifetime. I mean, I had children…
