Exactly! There’s a definite irony in the facts that a) killers often describe themselves as feeling totally alone hungry to be understood, and yet b) so many of their writings center on the exact same cliched archetypes every edgy teenager sketches in notebooks. If they put half as much effort into sharpening their creative chops as they put into planning their murder sprees, they could have all the worshipful fans with none of the prison time.
