Growing up in the U.S., I never thought of my country as being very well organized either. All I saw were the problems — how far we fell short of our ideals. And it’s true; we do fall short in so many ways. But when you come back from a “fun” country, your homeland will feel like a tightly run ship — so tightly run that it’s not particularly interesting to live there.
