I’m gratified that you’d even put me in the same category!

One advantage I have is that the vast majority of epic historical/fantasy fiction takes place in medieval Europe, or in a world that’s clearly medieval European in tone and texture. Ancient Mesopotamia deserves its own literary treatment, with the same depth, detail and scope. That’s what I’m aiming for.
