It’s so easy to spot a fake fact these days, with the advent of the Internet. Why do people still spread (and believe) it then?

It’s a fascinating insight about human nature. Don’t people fear getting caught out? Or do they just not care?

For instance, on Facebook, this photo has been doing the rounds.

Protecting his throat? I think not!

Now while it seems lovely in theory, it isn’t actually true. All three wolves in this picture are actually MALE. And he is cowering in fear. Don’t believe me? Read this article.

Here a few other ‘facts’ that have been doing the rounds on Facebook and WhatsApp:

  • UNESCO has declared India’s national anthem as the best in the world!
  • Pass this <idiotic message> around to get good luck.
  • WhatsApp will become paid if the icon doesn’t turn blue.
  • Copy-paste this <stupid message> to ensure Facebook doesn’t get rights to your images.
  • 1 like = 1 dollar/prayer (oh God this gets me every time)

And so on…
