#365DaysOfWriting — Day 117

I’m watching Inception on MNHD+ after a long time.

There used to be a time after 2010, when I used to watch Inception at least once every week. During the week of release, I saw it twice over the weekend. I have the DVD. I even have the script book from an online contest I won.

Needless to say, I love this film.

After watching Inception, I’ve always tried having vivid dreams CONSCIOUSLY while sleeping. I’ve pushed myself to do it. But then I realised, dreams happen only unconsciously (day dreaming doesn’t count).

Inception was the one film that cemented Christopher Nolan’s stature as a really good director. Of course, he gets his material from his brother Jonathan Nolan, who is the better writer (and who I also believe will make an A-grade director). Inception was wholly written and directed by Chris Nolan though, and that makes me feel excited about his next venture, Dunkirk — shrouded in secrecy of course, apart from a Thin Red Line-style teaser trailer.

There are some scenes in Inception that really take your breath away — Paris city bending in on itself, the hallway fight scene involving Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the opening scene in the Japanese-style house and so many more. I will never forget the multiplex crowd going ‘OOOOOOH’ at the ending. Pure class.

Anyway, I need to get back to the film. What’s your favourite Christopher Nolan movie? Mine’s Interstellar, incidentally, followed by The Prestige, Memento and Inception.
