The Indian Cricket Team — a team for milestones
First, it was the 500th test at Kanpur — India beat New Zealand by 197 runs.
Then, along came the 250th home test at Kolkata — India beat New Zealand by 178 runs.
Today, it was the 900th ODI at Dharamsala — India beat New Zealand by 6 wickets.
At least the two test matches mentioned above were more competitive. India just swept New Zealand aside in the ODI — where they’re supposed to be more competitive, and ranked higher than us! Hopefully it’s an aberration, and as a cricket fan, I hope to see New Zealand coming back strongly in the ODIs. It’s time we saw a Williamson special.
Will football give me the same happiness?
Hopefully, tomorrow, Manchester United extend this magical sporting weekend for me by beating Liverpool away. Given the state we’re in currently, I find it highly unlikely… but, who knows? A Zlatan ‘trick at Anfield? Maybe a brace from Rashford? Ah, it’s good to dream…
