#365DaysOfWriting – Day 196
Has PV Sindhu taken the badminton baton from Saina Nehwal?
After her silver medal heroics at the Olympics, PV Sindhu won the China Open – in only her second appearance in a Super Series final, she beat the home favourite, Sun Yu of China, 21–11, 17–21 and 21–11.
With that, she becomes only the 3rd non-Chinese player to win the women’s singles in 30 years. Also only the 3rd Indian, after Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth won the women’s and men’s titles respectively in 2014.
I think she’s ready for an All England title. And by the time the next Olympics comes around, she’ll be ready for a gold too.
