Complaints against a leading figure in one of our urban centres have gone to the highest office of the land.
They are based on the following allegations:
– Extra marital affair with co-worker
– Abuse of office
All good, says Robin Nair
Permanent Secretary Robin Nair has assured that relations between him and Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola are fine. This in response to a suggestion in this column that they may not always see eye to eye.
The incoming PS for Foreign Affairs replied: “Ratu Inoke and I are long personal friends and enjoy a warm and trusting relationship, apart from my recent official relationship with him. He also knows my father and greatly respects him.
“That does not mean we cannot have a healthy, transparent and robust conversation about work. I am paid to give him honest and fearless advice. In my new job I have a constitutional responsibility to serve my Minister. I intend to do that most faithfully and honourably.
“I need your newspaper to support me on that journey honourably.”
Denarau talks
More mutterings from residents on Denarau are expected to lead to a meeting with the Denarau corporation board, we hear.
Seems issues include continuing concerns about home security following recent break ins on the upmarket resort and residences tourism island.
