Teams are ready to battle in the Dominion Insurance sponsored Junior Football Cup tournament which kicks off next Saturday at Vaturara Park, University of the South Pacific in Suva.

The tournament organised by the Suva Junior Football Club (SJFC) features Under-15 teams from the Suva Secondary Soccer Association.

SJFC president Olivier Jutel said the tournament would showcase Suva’s football talents.

“Nasinu Secondary School, Suva Grammar, Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) College as well as the Suva Junior Football Club’s Under-15 team will be competing in a round-robin tournament.

“This tournament would enhance the development of football at grassroots level and gives children the opportunity to excel in football.

“There are also prizes for teams and we are expecting this tournament to be of a high standard,” Jutel said.

He also thanked Dominion Insurance and Movements International for their kind sponsorships.

“We are thankful to our sponsors for sponsoring the tournament in the development of football in the country as we nurture younger players.

Jutel is also requesting all soccer fans to come out in numbers and support their respective players.

“There are a lot of talented players at primary and secondary schools and we need the people’s support to motivate them,” he added.
