Are coalitions the new trend of loyalty programs?
Here at Wulet we are committed to creating a contemporary solution for the biggest problem in the loyalty world today: how to keep track of all your points and rewards and get the most out of them. Today we are faced with a new dilemma, the loyalty aggregators. Are coalitions the new trend of loyalty programs?
For example Starwood SPG members will all earn 10 points for every dollar spent at all brands except for Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Element, which will be five points per every dollar spent. IHG’s loyalty program has exactly the same rates with its own hotels, with stays at InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Crown Plaza etc. earning 10 points per dollar, and Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites 5 points. Though these coalition programs offer a lot of options, a customer is still restrained to the brands which are in a given coalition. Wulet wants to bridge the gap between these coalitions. The Wulet Exchange could be used as a platform for the different brands inside a given loyalty program, but also be used to exchange points and bonuses from different industries altogether.
Usually one earns a lot of points while on vacation, though not enough to purchase another trip. However, they could definitely be enough to buy a movie tickets or refuel the car, or to buy something equally useful, but only provided there was a way to exchange those points across industries and brands. This is exactly what Wulet offers through the Wulet Exchange, and each brand sets its own points ratio, which prevents clients from taking advantage of the different rates at which you collect points with different purchases.
Loyalty coalitions are definitely the way forward, and Wulet is aiming to take this even one step further, the ultimate coalition. Not just all your vacation-related loyalty programs in once place, but ALL your loyalty programs in one place.
