I was prepared to be underwhelmed with M1 based on previous experience exploring other options. Besides Schwab, Wealthfront and Betterment everyone else that I’ve seen has been pretty lackluster.

Color me impressed, M1 actually looks pretty good. I like the cash in/out based rebalancing, lower fee for larger accounts and the ability to buy most securities in addition to ETFs. It would be nice to allocate part of a pie to a fully automated portfolio (probably ETF based similar to Betterment/Wealthfront) and have that portion support Tax Loss Harvesting.
