Seeing Beyond The Horizons

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain in the Abarim Range and see the land I have given the Israelites.” Numbers‬ ‭27:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“The allotment for the tribe of Judah, according to its clans, extended down to the territory of Edom, to the Desert of Zin in the extreme south.” Joshua‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I wonder what Moses saw, or more specifically, what did God show to Moses. Even as we continue to read the various lands, boundaries that is drawn out on the promised land, the immensity of this promise starts to show. It was indeed beyond everything Moses could have ever asked or imagined; more than what Joshua and Caleb could’ve believed in when they went out spying.

Point is, we will shortchange ourselves when we analyse and try to fathom God’s promises without first understanding God. God’s immensity can only be partly understood in faith: not sight.

Dear God, help me not box or limit your horizons with my sight, but empower me with faith to see beyond. Job, family, diseases – cancer, help me to dare see and believe beyond what’s in front and ahead. Teach me, mould me, so that I will trust you more than my emotions and rational analysis. Because you are always beyond my imagination and prayers. In Jesus name. Amen.
