Thank you for taking the time to research and write this post. It breaks down all of the information beautifully and is easy to understand. This information helped me decide on how to best get my 625 mgs of daily iron through supplements (I’ve been diagnosed as anemic and needed a blood transfusion last week). I’m going with a combination of ferrous sulfate and iron chelate to find a happy medium between cost, bioavailability and side effects. Unfortunately, the doctor’s office doesn’t really discuss potential options, just the side effects of ferrous sulfate, and that it needs to be taken with a lot of water and orange juice.
