Heaven on Earth
A Valentine’s Poem
Heaven on Earth?
Ah well,
Where else could heaven be
For heaven’s sake?!
The pleasures of the senses
The play of sunlight
Dappling
On smooth skin
The warmth of summer sun
Beaming down
On shining curls
Of darkest brown
The scent of fresh grass
In my nostrils
And its cushioning
Beneath my buttocks
The sweet smell
Of full summer air
And breath taking
Blue skies overhead
The heat of the moment
Sun, sex and sweat
Sultry seductive suggestions
Soft sweet sighs
Heaven on Earth
Is a man and a woman
In close embrace
In nature’s dell
Heaven on Earth
Is me and you
Yes you
Who captured my heart
So many times
In so many guises
The scent of the male
The strength of the man
The spirit of the masculine
Breathing through flesh and blood
Taking his pleasure
In my womanly guise
Sacred sexuality
Man and woman
The masculine
Meets the feminine
In me
Within me
Within him
With me
And I
Become goddess
Lost in timeless eternity
Sensation my only guide
To the heavens
And when I reach dizzying heights
My body is left behind
And I am heaven bound
Looking down
Upon the earth
From my home
Up above
I am goddess
I am female essence
I am she who loves
And she who grieves
She who sows
And she who reaps
She who never gives up
And she who loves you still
I am she who mothers
She who cradling needs
She who fights for justice
And she who loves you to eternity and back
Heaven on earth
Yes, give me a man
With an open heart
Strong arms
And eyes to drown in
Willing body
And steadfast hold
Fearful not
Of love and passion
Of dying a little death
Of gazing in to eternity
Through my eyes
A man who knows
Freedom
Lies in loving a woman
So completely
She is lost
To all else
Captive to his focus
Clay in his hands
Give me such a man
And I will show you
Heaven on earth
Reflected in my eyes
As I gaze upon
The beloved
Made manifest
In his guise
Of flesh and blood
Of tender looks
And masterful moves
Of timid endearments
And forceful thrusts
Of gentle nature
And violent hunger
For his lover
The earth
His mother
His beloved
His queen
His dearest daughter
His grandest crone
His woman
His all
I that represent these things
I goddess incarnate
Find heaven on earth
In the strong embrace
Of he who is
Father
Son
Lover
Consort
Great Spirit above
And wise old man
The masculine essence
Made whole
In flesh and blood
By the power of my love
In my arms
Doth he find freedom at last
Heaven on earth
Is found
When god and goddess
On sacred earth
Co-join
Body and ground
Sky clad
Flesh meet flesh
Lips touch lips
Eyes drown in eyes
Reconnection
To self
To other
To all that is
Above
And below
The same become
When you and I
Embrace
The sacred dance
Together
