GRIEVE WHEN IT HURTS
I won’t tell you it’s alright because it’s not
I won’t tell you not to cry because you should
I won’t say I feel your pain because I don’t
Nor will I tell you I understand your grief because I can’t.
So darling let the flood gates open,
Grief not released won’t heal,
Pain not expressed will hurt more,
Tears not shed will gather like clouds
Blocking the sunshine from your life.
Cry if you must,
Grieve if you must
Write if it helps
But know darling,
That this life is all you’ve got
And there are many of us here,
Who still love and cherish you,
So for us, for you and for him,
Grieve, then pick yourself up and move on.
