The recipe of Sweet Tang Yuan Soup

Here are the ingredients you need to get from any Asian market. You don’t need to buy exactly the same thing as the photos I added by following. Just find out the similar stuff. That is okay for the taste. I also put the names and addresses of some Chinese markets nearby Canal Street in Chinatown down below. Please check it out.

  1. Fermented Sweet Rice sauce

2. Dried Lycium Barbarum (Dried berry)

3. Small rice ball (Small Tang Yuan)

Summary of Ingredients

  • Fermented Sweet Rice sauce
  • Dried Lycium Barbarum (Dried berry)
  • Small rice ball (Small Tang Yuan)
  • Sugar and water (I used Brown Sugar)

Let’s cook for 1 or 2 servings

  1. Put 350 ml water in a small pot
  2. Put 80 ml (1/3 cup) rice sauce in it
  3. Waiting for the water boiling
  4. Put some dried berry
  5. Then put 1 TBS (15g) sugar in it (Depends on how sweet you would like)
  6. Then put small rice ball (Tang Yuan), around 20 balls, it’s up to you.
  7. When the water is boiling and see the rice balls are floating. See the photo below
  8. Then just boil it for 2 more minutes
