Free OpenSource Data Rescue & Data Recovery Apps For New Mac OS Ver 14.0 Sonoma

--

Mac OS Sonoma is the 14th major release of macOS, the operating system for Mac computers. It was announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 5, 2023, and released to the public on September 26, 2023.

Mac OS Sonoma introduces new features such as desktop widgets, screen savers, video conferencing enhancements, Safari profiles, and game mode. It also drops support for some older Mac models that were compatible with macOS Monterey, the previous version. macOS Sonoma is named after Sonoma County in Northern California, which is known for its wine production and scenic landscapes.

In 2006, Apple transitioned to the Intel architecture with a line of Macs using Intel Core processors. In 2020, Apple began the Apple silicon transition, using self-designed, 64-bit ARM-based Apple M series processors on the latest Macintosh computers. As of 2023, the most recent release of macOS is Mac OS Ver 14.0 Sonoma.

Chapter 1 New Mac OS Ver 14.0 Sonoma Feature

Desktop widgets: You can now add interactive widgets to your desktop, such as weather, calendar, notes, and more. They will blend into the background when you are using other apps, but you can access them anytime by moving your cursor to the edge of the screen1.

Safari profiles: You can create different profiles in Safari, each with its own favorites, history, tab groups, and extensions. This can help you keep your browsing separate for different purposes, such as work, school, or personal.

Screen sharing and presenter overlay: You can easily share your screen during a FaceTime or Zoom call by clicking on the green button in the corner of any app window. You can also use the presenter overlay feature to stay on screen and point to details on your shared screen3.

Game mode: You can enable game mode to optimize your Mac for gaming performance. This will automatically adjust your settings, such as resolution, graphics quality, and battery usage, to give you the best gaming experience possible.

FaceTime reactions: You can express yourself during a FaceTime call by using reactions, such as love, like, dislike, balloons, confetti, and more. Some reactions are triggered automatically by your physical gestures, such as thumbs up or down.

New screen savers: You can enjoy new screen savers in macOS Sonoma, such as Aurora, which shows the northern lights, and Sonoma, which showcases the beautiful landscapes of Sonoma County in California.

Web apps: You can turn any website into a web app by clicking on the Safari menu and choosing Create Web App. This will create a standalone app that you can launch from the Dock or the Finder, and it will run in its own window without the Safari toolbar.

Video conferencing enhancements: You can improve your video conferencing experience by using features such as portrait mode, which blurs your background and focuses on your face, and voice isolation, which reduces background noise and enhances your voice.

Predictive text: You can type faster and more accurately by using predictive text, which suggests words and phrases based on your context and writing style. You can also use emoji suggestions, which offer relevant emojis for your text.

Focus mode: You can reduce distractions and stay focused by using focus mode, which lets you choose which notifications and apps you want to allow or block. You can create different focus modes for different situations, such as work, sleep, or personal.

Universal Control: You can use a single mouse and keyboard to control multiple devices, such as a Mac and an iPad, without any setup. You can simply move your cursor across the screens and drag and drop files, text, and images between them.

Shortcuts: You can automate tasks and workflows by using shortcuts, which are customizable actions that you can trigger with a click, a keyboard shortcut, or a voice command. You can create your own shortcuts or use the ones that are built-in or suggested by apps.

Quick Note: You can quickly jot down notes from any app or screen by swiping from the bottom right corner of your trackpad or clicking on the Quick Note icon in the Control Center. You can also add links, images, and text from other apps to your Quick Note by dragging and dropping them.

Chapter 2 The History of Development Malware & Virus on Mac OS System

The first computer virus that spread in the wild, Elk Cloner, infected Apple computers running DOS 3.3 in 1982.

The nVIR virus, discovered in 1987, infected Macintosh computers running System 4.1 to 8.0, and would either beep or say “Don’t panic” using MacinTalk1.

HyperCard viruses, which appeared in 1988, infected HyperCard stacks that users shared, and displayed messages such as supporting Michael Dukakis or promoting peace1.

Disinfectant, a free antivirus software created by John Norstad in 1989, was widely used to protect Macs from viruses until 1998, when it was retired due to the rise of macro viruses1.

MP3Concept, a benign proof of concept for a trojan horse, was discovered in 2004, and showed that Mac OS X could be vulnerable to malware that disguised itself as a data file.

Leap, also known as Oompa-Loompa, was a worm that spread via iChat in 2006, and attempted to infect applications on Mac OS X.

RSPlug, a trojan that was distributed via fake video codecs in 2007, changed the DNS settings of Mac OS X and redirected users to malicious websites.
MacSweeper, a rogue application that misled users about malware threats in order to take their credit card details, was discovered in 2009.
