Collaboration collaboration collaboration.
Everything is now sung by a choir.
But should it? If all you can choose from in a music scene is choirs, won’t you yearn, at some point, to hear the individual? The soloist?
I met a baritone once, with a powerful voice. An opera singer. He said that if you put a soloist into a choir you can destroy their voice. Because he needs to bring his voice down so that it doesn’t stand out in the choir.
This is what groupthink and collaboration can do. It’s not a panacea. Often it’s just a necessity because modern artforms require so many different skillsets.
