All you need to know about farming for Genshin Impact’s special currency

As Genshin Impact enters the start of version 2.3, players are hunting Primogems for the new event banners.

In Genshin Impact, Primogems are a crucial currency for the gacha system. Players are currently spending their Primogems to wish for Eula, Albedo and the two great options on the weapon banner. For gamers who need just a few more wishes, follow these few steps to receive more primogems.

Ways to Earn Primogems

  • Daily Commissions
  • Achievements
  • HoYoLAB sign in rewards
  • Spiral Abyss
  • Adventurer’s Handbook
  • Hangout Quests
  • Events
  • Story Quests
  • Redeem codes
  • Exploration — Chests and Puzzles
  • Serenitea Pot Trust Rank
  • Complete Tutorials

Daily Commissions

The most well known way to get primogems is probably the daily commissions. Collect 10 primogems for each commissions completed (4 commissions) and remember to go to the Adventurer’s Guild for an extra reward! This will give you around 60 primogems daily and 1800 monthly. There is a huge range of commissions to complete and discover, some that can unlock achievements with each first complete.

Completing Achievements

There is a wide variety of ways to complete achievements, whether it’s just completing world quests, mastering your cooking skills or interacting with new people in world exploration you can collect in many ways and be generously rewarded with 5–20 primogems.

Like other updates, version 2.2 of Genshin Impact introduced some new achievements. Gamers can complete some new, hidden achievements that were added in the latest update.

For achievements that aren’t hidden, players can see which ones they’re missing in Paimon’s Menu.

HoYoLAB Rewards

HoYoLAB Rewards is without doubt the most easiest and convenient way to earn a huge load of rewards by just signing into the HoYoLAB. To create an account, use your miHoYo account or your email used to sign up for your Genshin account and you will be ready to go!

The HoYoLAB Rewards give you 60 primogems from 5 weeks of check in. You can also receive a range of different essentials needed such as food, experience, more and weapon material. If you haven’t signed up for HoYoLAB yet, this will be the perfect opportunity for you to earn rewards sent right up to your doorstep (or mailbox )

Spiral Abyss

The Spiral Abyss is an area located on Musk Reef, consisting 12 floors with 3 levels, each one with different enemies, objectives, and challenges. If you can manage successfully completing all the additional challenges for the first time it can provide a great source of Primogems and Mora.

Spiral abyss has recently changed to 100 primogems each floor meaning players can earn 1200 primogems through completing floors 9–12. This will be extremely valuable for the new players and more experienced players as spiral abyss resets on each 1st and 16th of each month. If you believe you are a capable player, why not try your luck venturing though the immense rooms of the spiral abyss!

Adventurer’s Handbook

The adventurer’s Handbook is a type of diary all travelers can keep to keep track of their progress and in turn earn up to 50–150 primogems for each chapter completed. This is just one of the many convenient and organized way to collect large quantities of Primogems.

Hangout Quests

You can fight, enjoy a moment of serenity, go through many experiences and strengthen your relationships with all your favorite characters! Hangout Quests can not only give out 60 primogems for each quest but is generally a very fun activity which is unprecedented depending on which ending you receive. Recently in version 2.3 miHoYo has added the story quests for Beidou, Gorou and soon maybe even Arataki Itto. In the previous version 2.2, Sayu and Thoma were added making it a total of 240 primogems you can gain from just doing story quests.

In order to access Hangout Quests, you will need to complete 8 commissions to obtain a key. You can hold up to three keys in your storage and 1–2 keys can be used to unlock the hangout quests.

Events

Limited time events can come each update and give a large amount of primogems when participating. Genshin Impact constantly has events that reward players with Primogems. Currently, the event Shadows amidst the Snowstorms is going on and players can earn more than 600 primogems during these 18 days of the event. Players who haven’t finished the event can still earn up to 690 Primogems through the event shop and “Martial Trial” which will open during the end of the event.

Trials of the limited time banner character always come up onto the events page and each player can obtain 20 primogems from a simple domain of trialing this character. As this update we have two character banners, players can straight away receive 40 primogems for both Eula and Albedo’s trial. But that’s not the only exciting thing in the events category, there is still heaps more fun in the upcoming events just waiting, so be prepared!

Story Quests

For those players who have unlocked Inazuma, most of the story quests located all around the map will give primogems as a reward for completing so keep watch on the small icons!

Redeem Codes

As each update comes by, new redeem codes refresh and get released after and can be claimed by players by visiting this website; https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en/gift. By checking what codes are released you can stay in tune to Genshin Impact’s Twitter or join the official or unofficial Genshin Impact server to keep track of all the codes. But make sure to make haste as many redeem codes can expire quickly making it a disadvantage for players who don’t play as much.

Some available redeem codes recently released are

  • ETNU2DN5NZRR — 60 primogems an
  • GENSHINGIFT — 50 primogems and three hero’s wit (this code works periodically)d four adventurer’s experience (new!)

miHoYo will release codes each month so make sure to keep track on the server!

Exploration — Chests and Puzzles

Whether it’s fighting of monsters or hiking up tall mountain terrains, just simply exploring the vast lands of Teyvat, you can earn lots of primogems from unlocking waypoints, domains and opening chests with very prosperous loot! All chest are scattered all over the map and give more primogems depending on the rarity. Collect chests to also unlock achievements as a bonus!

Exploring around the map means you will also need to be alert from nearby monsters as they attack immediately at the sight of you. Many monsters can drop extremely valuable items that are essential for leveling up character and weapons. But be warned, you do not want to get to get on the wrong side of a monster twice your size!

Serenitea Pot Trust Rank

In the recently made quest “A teapot to call home” you can complete it to redeem your reward of a magical teapot. This teapot is known as the Serenitea Pot and holds another realm (or three) within its inside and can be used to grow crops, build, and a great place to spend your free time. Not only is the Serenitea Pot a fun place to visit frequently, it can give a huge source of 60 Primogems for each Trust Rank increase.

You can increase your Trust Rank on the first time you create a furnishing you can add a small segment to your Trust Rank bar and redeem rewards from Tubby. You can interact with this system anytime you like with your teapot gadget or simply just teleport to one of the waypoints in the Serenitea Pot map.

Tutorials

For travelers who have just started their journey, many tutorials can be unlocked at first giving you a primogem for each tutorial discovered and learnt. The archive contains tutorials for basic gameplay. Each of the four categories are either related to Elements (16), Enemies (45), System (12 for PC players, 11 for other devices), and Adventure (50). This makes it up to 124 primogems you can redeem from each tutorial, so make sure to check your tutorials for each new discovery!

Conclusion

As an F2P player I generally find it slightly harder to earn a large amount of primogems but there are still many ways to get these without using money. But if you are a P2W player you can sign up for a a daily login premium that can give you extra rewards upon each time you sign in. Genshin Impact is neither P2W or F2P so there are always ways to earn primogems.
