The homes are built with brand name building products
Custom-built prefabricated Container House, such as the modernist perrinepod, encourage the green value that houses should be nothing more or less than their inhabitants need. By using less space and materials, prefab homes preserve natural resources, while leaving the smallest of footprints. They are usually manufactured in a way that leaves a smaller ecological footprint than conventional on-site construction.
Hoping to ‘keep the world beautiful now and for generations to come,’ M Finity takes an eco approach to all of their unique modular products. From houses, cabanas and sheds, M Finity employs sustainable, recycled, low-energy materials and fixtures to create functional, space-efficient design.
Whether it’s a guesthouse or a private getaway, the versatile Passion House M1 could be the perfect prefab for your house addition needs. Designed by Estonian studio Architect 11 as part of a series of modular housing options, the Passion House M1 can be assembled in just two days and comes fully furnished with modern amenities. Although M1 is the smallest in the series, the 51.4-square-meter abode doesn’t give up on living large — the energy-efficient model includes an optional sauna.
The environmentally friendly Passion House M1 is constructed mainly out of wood, with a glulam structure frame and cross-laminated-timber wall panels. The windows are made from wood-aluminum and the furnishings are constructed from painted or laminated MDF boards. The unit’s energy efficient design uses passive ventilation and solar shading instead of an air conditioning system.
Cost overruns are virtually unheard of in the modular industry. As mentioned above, climate controlled factories ensure there are no weather related construction delays. In addition, there are no cost overruns from “no-show subs” (as may often be the case with a site built home). Next, because of the reduced construction time there is reduced interest on construction financing which means you, the consumer, pay less on your loans. Finally, because of the volume of homes a typical manufacturer builds in a year, additional savings occurs through volume purchasing of materials and yearly buying contracts with suppliers.
One of the problems today’s site builders have is finding skilled subcontractors. Because modular homes are built in factories, the subcontractors are already there. Skilled craftspeople construct each home to exact specifications. In addition, the homes are built with brand name building products that you know and trust. Both in-house personnel and an independent agency inspect all homes during and after construction to ensure that every Modular Home meets our high standards and code requirements.
