I appreciate Sanders willingness to take stands further to the left than most Democrats. However, I find it interesting that though he discusses issues I care about including mass incarceration and racial justice there’s a disconnect. I have yet to hear any Democrats really talk about how racialized our economic system is when they discuss solutions. I appreciate that you discussed the higher consumption taxes as it reveals that creating a stronger safety net is more complex than many folks on the left are willing to admit.
