RTL8821AE wifi drivers in Ubuntu, part 2: Electric Boogaloo

Hi elMaxx!

I have installed Ubuntu 16.04.3 .

I really appreciate your work, but I have followed your instructions and the connections fails.

At first it lasted about 15 minutes, but afterwards, and even rebooting the system the connection crashed at every minute!

I have been mentally blocked, and a friend told me to try an inexpensive USB wifi receiver that was compatible with Linux. In Amazon, I read the opinions from users and finally I have chosen 2 products:

  1. TP-LINK Model TL-WN823 (quite old fashioned but well tested, with only 2.4 GHz band with 300Mbs). I had to install Nothing ! Ubuntu recognized it immediately!. To my surprise it has a Realtek chipset, but worked fine! The only problem was that the wifi router should be not very far from the system!
  2. Meross AC600 Wireless USB adapter model WA255 from Victsing( Dual band.) . This was a risky decission, but I wanted a second chance! I had to go to www.meros.com/support and follow the instructions and downloaded Ubuntu drivers for Linux 4.X.beta developed by Ole Petter Bang in https://github.com/gnab/rtl8812au. Horror, another Realtek chipset! But works without any problem!

I have to refuse using the PCIe RTL8821ae from my Laptop, and no problems!
