Studying abroad

“Nobody can discover the world for somebody else. Only when we discover it for ourselves does it become common ground and a common bond and we cease to be alone.”
― Wendell Berry

My life in Korea “The beginning”

Ever since I was a child I had a dream in my mind. I was born in a country where, if you didn’t have a lot of money or a good social status (which usually are held by hands) you couldn’t dream of having a good chance for success.

When I was born, we can say I had it easy. My mom had already worked her ass off to bring me to this world and raise me with a good education, in order to have a fruitful future.

Anyways, I wanted to make a difference and study abroad (maybe it doesn’t sound very different from other teenagers that share the same dream ) but it seemed impossible at the beginning. After some time, thanks to the effort of mom and my step dad, I was able to accomplish my dream of going to a foreign land, South Korea, which happens to be at the other side of the world.

Just the thought of travelling so far away gave me goose bumps. I thought it over and over again before coming here. Because even if it was something I’ve been waiting for a long time, it was something terrifying at the same time. Finally I ended up realizing that, even though it was scary to think that I was going to be alone in a foreign country, which by the way I didn’t even know the language spoken there, I was given this opportunity so I had to take it and get the best from it.

So that’s when I decided to come to Korea, I was 18 years old, I had just graduated from high school and I had never lived alone.

Then the real adventure of my life started.

I’ll keep writing stories of my life in Korea ☺

Sorry if I made mistakes ☹ English is not my mother tongue, so I hope you understand.
