Nice article but this bothers me a lot. Saying a Macedonian is not Greek is like saying a Berliner is not German. Macedonians were always a Greek tribe and i am a Macedonian myself from my father’s side, living in Macedonia, which is a Greek terittory. The confusion in our days started when Josip Broz Tito, the former yugoslavian dictator named one of its terittories Macedonia to serve his own communistic propaganda. Later when Yugoslavia dismantled the citizens of this terittory believed (as they heve learned through their education) that they are Macedonians. In fact they are Slavs which they appeared in the area in 9th century BC, over a thousand years after Alexander lived. Of cource this confirms your article, their Intolerance slured over with the tolerance of Greek population conveised the whole world in the last 3 decades that they are a tottaly different nation.
