For my high school girls .

Hi, i’m glad you clicked on my newest hobby, welcome. Lets just hop right into it shall we? i think we shall.
- Being in high-school i know it can be hard for us (especially us teen girls) to find who we truly are. I encourage you to try new things…. even if that means doing something that’s totally not your everyday normal self. Join that club you’ve always wanted to join, sit by a kid at lunch that isn’t the most popular, find interests in things you’ve never done. I KNOW YOU WANT TO STAND OUT. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
- Tell that boy you think he’s cute in your class, get his number. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable, open yourself up! ITS OKAY TO HAVE FEELINGS.
- LISTEN TO MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU FEEL ALIVE. There’s a lot more genres of music out there that i bet you haven't even heard of. Try listening to indie, folk, R&B, jazz, and of course cant forget the legendary Frank Sinatra. Old music is the best though i gotta tell ya. Fleetwood Mac (favs: Dreams or Landslide, Jr. Walker & The All Stars (fav: Shotgun), The Staple Singers (fav: I’ll Take You There)…. Now that’s what i call music when cruising doing the highway.
- Wear that outfit that makes you feel confident. I don’t care if that’s mom jeans, beat up sneakers, or a shirt you go from your grandmas closet. Who cares what they say. They got nothing on you, HECK WEAR THOSE THRIFTED CLOTHES!!!!!
- Instagram feeds don’t matter. POST THE PICTURE. I promise you you’ll still get likes on it and check this out… i promise someone wont care if its not the exact same VSCO edit as your last photo.
- Wow you’re still reading? glad you’re still here!
- Don’t be afraid to make new friends and LET GO OF THE OLD ONES. Friendships come and go like season do nowadays, its okay to venture out and make friends that aren’t exactly like you. I’ve learned through out my few years in high school that your true friends are the friends that love you for you (sounds cheesy i know but its so true). Come on if they talk behind your back are they really a friend? your momma wouldn’t think so i can tell ya that.
- Appreciate where you are right this moment. Whether you have no idea how that test tomorrow is going to turn out or have no way on earth what your next move is going to be. APPRECIATE IT ANYWAYS, take a deep breath and look how far you’ve come.
- Share your interests, you never know how it could inspire someone else. Even if your interests aren’t going to be accepted by your friends,,, WHO CARES! DO IT ANYWAYS. If they were your real friends they would support you.
- My very last point. Which happens to be the most important… BEing AUTHENTIC. It takes alot for us to truly be original with ourselves. Im not going to lie to you and tell you its easy, cause its not. Its gonna be the longest journey of your life; but also the greatest. Be real with yourself. Buy the shoes YOU like, listen to the music YOU like, dress how YOU feel most confident. I promise you people will appreciate authenticity when they see it. BE YOURSELF.
