I work in family law so I deal with divorce day in and day out. Sadly I know so much more about how to end a marriage than I do about getting into one. But it’s strange how the beginning of marriage is all about love, commitment & vows to each other and the end of marriage is about an emotionless equitable division of assets & debts.
Because I see so many marriages at the end rather than the beginning, it deeply affects my view of marriage. People don’t often see the humor when I receive an invitation to a wedding and I rsvp, “maybe next time…”
