I would be happy to talk to you about this further.

Ok. End of the week. School insanity is done. Work insanity is done. Time is mine now. So when I was reading through all of the comments, of course my initial defensive mechanisms were to be offended. Why is it assumed that just because my skin is a certain color it automatically means that I have to feel a certain way about people who have skin of another color? But when I started looking deeper into the conversations you were having, it occured to me that you weren’t talking about how any individual feels or treats anyone else. If I understood all of this correctly, what you are saying is because white people have been the majority for so long, it basically enables our power to keep the minorities oppressed, manifesting itself in different ways be it economic or social class. Because of this, I am automatically a part of that racist system because I am white, whether or not I directly contribute to that system or believe in that system. With that thought, I wasn’t so offended anymore. This would be something that began way before my existence but because of those before me, I carry the burden of their legacy just as every black person in some way has suffered for it. Before I go on, am I even on the right track?
