I think your point is fair, but your conclusion that Libertarians do not comprehend this is based on what? Do you know a lot of Libertarians, or at least a statistically meaningful sample so that you could make such a statement? If I were to make such a generalization regarding another group I have no doubt you would be among the first to denounce me as stereotyping a group based on ignorance. If you ever speak to a genuine Libertarian you will never hear that a pure, unregulated fee-market would be desirable. But such regulation should not be directed toward curtailing individual freedom of choice, even if that choice is largely regarded as self-destructive.
