At the risk of making dear Gail sound old, the time she has been away from her high school is longer than my total life on this planet (no harm meant, Gail!)
Letter #14: Where do you want to be 30 years from now?

Oh my goodness Johnson! No offense taken. My age is simply a fact. A number attached to how long I’ve lived and learned. I would not turn back the clock for any reason.

Wisdom surrounds us everywhere. In books and songs, blogs and well intended advice, quotes and nature, art and physical activity.

The thing is, at least in my case, the student must be ready for the lesson for it to have an impact. It is the gift of time that “warms our petals” readying them to open. (I took the analogy from your 100 words today.)

I can share my thoughts and stories. Experience and life lessons thrown like sand at a window. Sometimes the window is closed. Maybe it is open a crack. On occasion, it is wide open receiving every grain.

With age, my window continues to open more and more.

My only advice is to be open and flexible to advice and experience. You might find that what you once thought was the right path is really a dead end.

That’s OK!

We are wired to try and try again. With each passing day, each attempt, each thought we accept or reject, we are closer to becoming the person we are meant to be.
