Several research studies have been done on the topic of technology in the future. These studies are very great and informative, but I am interested in the research study conducted by Greverch (2017). Greve conducted a study within America intending to know the views of people on the future of technology. He was more focused on capturing the attitudes of the public on future inventions. He also provided an opportunity for people within the study population to talk about the futuristic inventions they would like to own. Greve (2017) cited that most of the responses from the study population involved new traveling modes and an improvement in health and longevity. Other respondents mentioned the need to travel through time to top the list of futuristic inventions. Based on these responses, most people of America predict a future that will ease their travel from place to place, with more comfort and adventure than they are today. Approximately 20 percent of America’s people want to own inventions related to travel, such as a flying bike or the flying car, cars that are self-driving, personal spacecraft, a jet pack, and devices used for teleporting (Greve, 2017). The people also mentioned a desire for time travel and inventions relating to health. 1 in 10 of the Americans talked of future inventions that will enable them to travel through time as part of their dreams. These groups said they want a future that will improve their health, increase their lifespan, and cure the current chronic diseases like cancer and HIV/AIDS (Quesada et al., 2017).

Similarly, a number of American people demonstrated feelings of happiness towards the current advancements in technology that have greatly transformed their daily lives. This group of people responded that they have no dreams of the said futuristic inventions they would want to own. Also, most of them were innocent of the futuristic developments they would admire or want to own. Greve’s study reveals that younger adults are more excited to own travel-related inventions in the future. Thirty-two percent of age between 18 and 29 years cited a number of inventions related to travel as the future developments in technology that they would want to own. In contrast to this age bracket, those in middle age between 30 and 49 just wanted inventions to help them around their houses, such as personal robots (Greve, 2017). The interest in traveling may seem appealing to everybody, be it young or old, but in this case, the younger adults are more interested. Only 3 percent of those above 49 years old showed interest in travel-related inventions.
