The Famous Night Markets Culture In Taiwan

Recently, the unique night market culture in Taiwan has attracting so many tourists around the world. It even had a large effect on Taiwanese entertainment’s originality.

At the summer of 2013, I have spent 3 months in Taiwan for traveling and expanding my life experience. The typical impression of Taiwan in my memory is its night market culture.

This is because not only the local people ardently love tasty foods, but also the unique geographic position and climate of Taiwan provide abundant resources and ingredients for their delicious food.

There are three types of night market in Taiwan.

Touring Night Market

These night markets are collaborated with government department, in terms of planing a beautiful and unique tourist spots with local culture, such as Kaohsiung Liu-He night market.

Liquidity Night Market

These night markets are located at some open areas in the city, like car park. However, they can only operate their business at some special days, such as once a week.

Also, they are mainly street peddler who come to arrival point before dinner time and leave after midnight. Garden night market at south of Taiwan is a good example.

Commercial Night Market

They are mainly located at commercial area of city centre and they are mixed with stores and street peddler.

Normally these night markets operate till early in the morning due to massive consumers who have abundant night life.

There are so many various night market which are located at different areas of Taiwan.

For instance, In the north of Taiwan, there are Shi-Lin night market, Rao-He night market, Shi-Da night market and Ji-Long night market;

Also, there are Cheng-Huang-Miao night arket, Zu-Nan night market, Feng-Jia night market, and Yi-Zhong Street etc in the middle of Taiwan.

Meanwhile, the Tu-Shi-Lin and Feng-Jia night market are well known by majority costumers.

In Taiwan, no matter where you go, as long as you inquire information about delicious food and night market from local residents, you are able to obtain the information you wanted.

For example, the Feng-Jia night market is close to University of Feng-Jia. With favorable geographical position, there are approximately 30,000 consumers in Feng-Jia night market. And also almost over 100,000 consumers during the holiday period.

Moreover, the Shi-Lin market is really famous and popular at Taipei.It can be divided by two parts; which located at Ci-Cheng Palace and Ying-Yang theater.

There are also 500 shops and street pedlar at the Da-Dong Road and Da-Nan Road.

Therefore, various popular clothing, snacks and food fill in the night market with lively consumers. The most important element in night market is food.

The classic foods are like teppanyaki, steaks, oyster omelet and Cantonese congee etc. and they are the crucial highlights that attracting local people and tourists from the whole world.
