Saloth Sar, better known by his ‘nom de guerre’, Pol Pot (1925–1998) was born in Prek Sbov, Cambodia and will be remembered by the history books as one of the worst genocidaires of all times. This is the story of Pol Pot, his vision, his politics and mainly, his comparison with Hitler making him: the Hitler of the Asian continent.

Saloth Sar was part of a group of Cambodian intellectuals who received scholarships to study in Paris. It was in the French capital where he began his political life as a militant in the French Communist Party (PCF). After his return to Cambodia, the country was in a period of rebellion against the French colonial government, achieving its independence in 1953. During the years 1956–1963, Pol Pot devoted himself to teaching history, geography and French literature, while secretly planting the seeds of one of the bloodiest revolutions we have ever witnessed. In 1968 the Khmer guerrillas were created and the revolution gained ground until 1975, when the capital, Phnom Penh, was conquered and the Republic of Kampuchea was created.
