Located on the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula, Los Cabos is a regular vacation spot for anglers from across the globe. The perennially sunny weather and white sand beaches surrounded by endless blue ocean is what tempts the savvy travelers to plan their vacation here.

Fall season is the prime time for offshore deep-sea fishing in Cabo San Lucas. The waters around this Mexico vacation spot are loaded with marlin which makes anglers from all over the world book their private yacht charter in Cabo well in advance. The area also hosts two of the biggest deep-sea fishing tournaments at this time of year. Fall marks the peak season for Blue Marlin and Sailfish with lots of Blacks and Stripers sticking around as well!
DAY ONE
Upon your arrival, relax for some time in your own private luxury yacht in Cabo. You could probably laze around all day by the water, but you’re not going to. Instead, don a change of clothing and grab your sunglasses and hat, because it’s the perfect time to try your hand at deep sea fishing. Cabo has long been dubbed the Striped Marlin Capital of the World. Few species of fish you can catch during deep sea fishing include:
• Striped Marlin — Catching a Striped Marlin is an extraordinary experience in its own regards, as the nimble fish typically gets so excited it starts pulsating with vibrant colors down the sides of its body, which is referred to as ‘lighting up’ a Marlin in the words of anglers. The peak season for running are between the months of November and March. Trolling with live bait is a method of choice, while most captains insist on using circle hooks for landing the fish, as it does less damage and allows the creature to live to fight another day.
• Blue and Black Marlin — Black and blue marlin are the most targeted species on the Los Cabos tournament circuit. Once hooked, all species of Marlin display an acrobatic showdown. They dance, skip and leap through the air on the end of your line, often providing for the fight of their life. This is why fishing Marlin has almost legendary status amongst anglers across the world. The Blue Marlin tends to dive deeper and tire quicker than other Marlin.
Once your fishing time is complete, its time to pamper yourself with a rejuvenating spa. At night, dress up and head outside to the deck of your Cabo yacht cruise to dance the night away to some popular tunes played by a live band.
DAY TWO
If you can get yourself to rise early enough, start your day off right with a walk along the beach. While taking the walk, marvel at the orange-pink-purple hues of the sunrise illuminating the sky. Head to the yacht dining area for a hearty breakfast filled with cold-pressed juices, organic Mexican fruits, a selection of pastries and kitchen offerings such as the incredible Mexican baked eggs. It’s another fishing day!! Today you can indulge in inshore fishing.
• Roosterfish — Whilst deep sea fishing is an all-time favorite amongst the anglers visiting Cabo, the inshore fishing is also gaining popularity with each passing year. By far the most coveted catch is the Pacific Roosterfish. The fish is an exemplary predator of the surf. Regardless of the season, the waters of Cabo always brim with Roosters.
• Sierra Mackerel — Another champion of the shallows, Sierra Mackerel is a schooling fish best known for the explosive splashes it creates on the surface while hunting bait. The sole reason behind the concentration is that it is used as the main ingredient in ‘ceviche’, a famous seafood dish best served with a side of sweet potatoes, avocados or plantain, and seasoned with chilli pepper and citrus juices.
Finally, Jack Crevalle, locally known as Toro (the bull) is perhaps one of the most overlooked inshore game fish in the area. December through July is prime time for Toro fishing.
A romantic, moonlit walk on the beach is the perfect conclusion to your idyllic, two-day voyage in your own luxurious private yacht charter in Cabo.
