Hello, everyone!

Before posting any entries, I believe that it might be useful to introduce myself a bit.

I am Yağızer, a twenty-one-year-old undergraduate student at Bogazici University, Turkey. Yağızer is pretty unique name as you can see from the blog URL, and it is hard to pronounce, and to remember even for some native Turkish speakers, so you can address me whatever name you can pronounce as long as I notice it. I am a junior in Management, and Political Science majors with a focus on International Relations.

I had worked as a media buyer for OMD Turkey, which is Omnicom Media Group’s media buying arm, for six months. I have some prior information about the functioning of social media and programmatic media thanks to this experience.

The importance of social media has been growing more and more in the contemporary world and in some countries, like Turkey, it is even in competition with conventional media channels for daily news. It is the reason why I enrolled this course in the first place.
