Let’s go up a level above the clouds and think about this. If anything gets a legacy company like AT&T hard it’s profits, not just any profits, MORE profits. Period. So whatever happens if ROI doesn’t appear, it’s the dumpster for HBO. Not a nice sentiment, but habitual business behavior.

2 words to meditate on: Subscription Bubble. (OM…….)

Speaking of sub bubbles, can’t wait to see what the mega entertainment behemoth Disney will do. Will it jump on the (very crowded and now ever more crowded) subscription bandwagon or simply keep selling products?

If people don’t see the subscription crunch coming they simply are not online or paying attention. As talent gets increasingly corralled by huge for profit holding corporations crazy crap will happen to entertainment products. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of AT&T’s first forays into a studio quality production of, hmmmmm, let’s see, how about a home grown series, Reality Blockbuster News! ROI ROI ROI!
