Most seem to be urging career or location change, so I guess I’ll just pile on.
Above, someone got tenure by one vote then left for something. It happens. We’ve seen this show before in Wis. several times over equal pay and tenure for women educators. There’s a lot of elbows, time and expense going the court route cause going up against systems are always going to be tough.
Anyway, piling on……
Teaching is really management among other skills, keeping groups of students occupied semester after semester, that’s administrative management not to mention the add-on tenure system whose days could be numbered in our modern changing education environment which includes activities such as trying to turn all the non-tenured teaching staff into adjunct slave contractors. Yes, ongoing and happening, not everywhere but a definite goal of education oversite.
Being aware that we still seem ensconced in a kind of patriarchal capitalist system for careers involving anything, if true, (since there will always be some discussion about what I identified as a fact) I’ve noticed a central theme in the USA involving administrative functions: In the admin realm, there are manager/supervisors and there are WORKING manager/supervisors. Can anyone guess who is who? Yep, this is our system and why top bloating$ are a fact (economic virus?), including our education system. This assertion is still defended, including in the courts.

During career transitioning, if that ends up being the call, while a different career/ job track selection is ongoing, one side hustle, like Medium, can be a stint at many city or community colleges, the pay can be similar but also probably contract. Whatever happens, keep whatever writing attitude you have.
