The end of interest rates

Interesting article but I’m not convinced that the current low interest rate environment is from the supply/demand from funds rather than government policy for the post financial crisis world. The only way that interest rates will truly move to zero is if there’s no opportunity cost for lenders. This can never really happen because investors will invest in other securities, like equities, or foreign currencies, etc. Therefore investors will still demand compensation for lending money and charge some kind of interest.
